San Diego-based technology company Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. has been announced as the Official Circuit Partner for NASCAR San Diego Weekend presented by Anduril and will also hold naming rights for the newly developed race course at Naval Base Coronado. The 3.4-mile, 16-turn layout — the first NASCAR circuit ever built on an active U.S. military installation — will carry the name Qualcomm Circuit.

The partnership also includes collaboration between Qualcomm Technologies, NASCAR and event partners to introduce advanced connectivity and intelligent computing solutions designed to enhance race operations, team performance and the overall fan experience during NASCAR San Diego Weekend.

“Qualcomm has long been associated with innovation, making them an ideal partner for this historic project,” said Amy Lupo, President of NASCAR San Diego. “The Qualcomm Circuit reflects the future of motorsports by combining cutting-edge design, high-performance competition and a tribute to the legacy of Naval Base Coronado as the United States Navy celebrates its 250th anniversary.”

Qualcomm Technologies has been a driving force in wireless communications and advanced technology for more than four decades, with innovations spanning AI, automotive systems, connectivity and next-generation communications. Company leaders said the partnership highlights both San Diego’s reputation as a technology hub and the significance of bringing NASCAR competition to a military installation for the first time.

“Qualcomm Circuit brings together innovation, competition and hometown pride,” said Don McGuire, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Qualcomm Incorporated. “This partnership celebrates San Diego’s technology leadership while honoring the service and history of the U.S. Navy. We’re proud to help create a one-of-a-kind racing experience.”

Construction on the Qualcomm Circuit is scheduled to begin in late May. The course will feature long straightaways, technical corners and several sections inspired by Naval Base Coronado landmarks and aviation history.

Among the signature portions of the layout is the Ellyson Start/Finish Line, named after Commander Theodore Ellyson, recognized as Naval Aviator Number One. Turn 5, known as Carrier Corner, will run between the docking areas of two aircraft carriers, while the Coronado Chicane at Turn 8 introduces a demanding technical section through the center of the base. Turn 14, called Runway Road, sits near Halsey Field’s Runway 18/36 and incorporates the active aviation environment into the course design.

NASCAR officials also confirmed updates to the original circuit plan unveiled last fall, including modifications at Turns 12 and 16 intended to create additional passing opportunities and increase the challenge for drivers competing across NASCAR’s national series.

NASCAR San Diego Weekend presented by Anduril begins June 19, 2026, with Navy Community Day, reserved for Navy personnel stationed at Naval Base Coronado and a limited number of Coronado residents. The day concludes with a NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race.

The event opens to the general public June 20-21, 2026. The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race is scheduled for Saturday, followed by the NASCAR Cup Series headline event, the Anduril 250 Race the Base, on Sunday.
